The LG V40 ThinQ officially goes on sale on Thursday 18th October but there's no word on United Kingdom pricing at the time of writing.

LG on Thursday launched a new premium smartphone with five cameras.

The most outstanding change that LG has made with LG V40 ThinQ is in its camera assembly with a quadruple camera setup i.e three at the back and two at the front. This means that each camera produces a different picture, of varying size and quality.

LG beats Apple, Samsung and Huawei to launch a smartphone with highest number of cameras yet.

On the front side, there is an 8-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture and 5-megapixel secondary camera with a f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video callings.

Like the rest of the flagship devices of 2018, the phone has Snapdragon 845. The main camera is a 12MP sensor with f/1.5 lens, and OIS. The triple camera set up on the back includes a regular, a super wide angle and a telephoto camera.

Make no mistake, everything the First Lady wears is calculated, from a simple dress to a " I really don't care, do u? ". But it was her attire which drew concern on Twitter, as she donned a white pith hat, with her riding pants and boots.

The South Korean tech firm explained: "The Triple Shot feature stitches together the images captured with each of the three lenses into a short video file for easy sharing". There are new lighting options there as well, so you can look better than real-life on social media.

The rear camera uses three; a 16MP super wide-angle, 12MP standard angle and 12MP telephoto. The phone saves a GIF of the three images transitioning into each other, as well as individual images so you can make up your mind later. Of course, there's also regular Portrait and Portrait Lightning modes available. Support artificial intelligence, laser autofocus and LED flash included.

Elsewhere, the V40 ThinQ packs an iPhone XS Max-rivaling 6.4in 3,120x1140 OLED Full Vision display, and while it's not completely bezel-free, LG boasts that its bottom bezel that is 1.6mm thinner than that found on the V30. There's an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 with 537 ppi of pixel density. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and an always-on display. It has the Adreno 630 GPU. the device has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 512 GB. As seen on the LG G7 ThinQ, the new LG V40 ThinQ also offers 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and Boombox Speaker. The phone is water and dust resistant with the IP68 rating.

The LG V40 ThinQ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor mated to either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The LG V40 ThinQ has LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, and USB Type-C 2.0.

Pricing depends on what carrier you get it from: T-Mobile is selling it at a $920 price point, while Verizon is all the way up at $980. The timing of updates to the newest version of the mobile OS company is still not announced. What is a surprise, however, is how many cameras LG found necessary to cram into the (admittedly big) body.
