On the other side of the ball, Cam Newton made it his business to confront his former receiver, Kelvin Benjamin.

It was a not-so-veiled shot at Cam Newton, which led to a curious scene ahead of Thursday's preseason game between the Bills and Panthers. "If you would've put me with any other quarterback, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?" Benjamin didn't shake it, and although Panthers linebacker tried to intervene, Newton waved him off and kept the conversation going.

Benjamin played with Newton for three and a half seasons in Carolina, though one of those was spent on the sidelines due to an ACL tear.

Wake Forest assistant coach charged for punching tourist who later died
A former VCU assistant basketball coach has been charged in the death of a man in NY last weekend. "He was a really good person". A Florida tourist died in NY after he was punched by a man he probably thought was an Uber driver, his family said.

Benjamin was later asked if this was at all hard for him considering how close he and Newton were when his career began in Carolina. Newton engaged Benjamin briefly before the receiver, who called out his former quarterback just a few days ago, started to amble away. Benjamin told The Athletic last week that he wishes he was never drafted by the Panthers, in part because of a lack of chemistry with Newton.

Initially, Newton's only response, posted in a video to social media, was to say that he wasn't "gonna go back and forth with him" but continue to "work". But with Benjamin seemingly unwilling to engage, Newton walked away in apparent frustration.
