Rather than follow the standard notch answer to edge-to-edge displays, Oppo has gone with a mechanical pop-up camera behind the display, leaving the screen free of any cutouts for the selfie camera and facial-recognition sensors.
It said that the 3D structured light module in Find X can project 15,000 dots, building a precise and complete 3D module of a user's face, and then compares with the registered face of the owner to unlock.
Oppo gave the Find X's front camera 3D face scanning to take better selfies and unlock your phone, though we're not certain yet how secure the face unlocking feature is at this point. OPPO claims it has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent, and this effectively allows the phone to carry a 6.4-inch panel while remaining compact enough to operate one-handed.
Open up the camera app, and switch to the front facing camera though, and an 8MP (f/2.0) will gracefully rise from the top of the handset. It's a full HD+ AMOLED display with a screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio and curved sides around the edges. It comes with an 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card of up to 400GB.
At the back, the phone sports a dual camera set-up with a 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors.

With the Find X, OPPO is aiming to go global as the smartphone will be sold in North America and Europe. We've asked OPPO Australia for more details on a launch here and we'll let you know if there's any updates.
The smartphone is inspired by the iPhone X, but Oppo Find X is better than it. The phone comes preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo and not too surprising, ColorOS still runs on top of it, which I haven't been too fond of it's recent iterations due to the similarities it has with iOS.
Oppo Find X has a motorised slider which opens and closes automatically to scan your face to unlock the phone. OPPO also introduced Omojis, the company version of Apple's Animojis.
The cameras on the Find X are hidden until you need them.
The Find X doesn't have a fingerprint scanner like many of its competitors in market. The phone is available in two colour options, Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue. It features the built-in Google Assistant and the smart low-power-consumption MIC with DSP module. The Lamborghini Edition with 50W (10V/5A) Super VOOC flash charge can be fully charged in just 35 minutes.
The Find X is a fairly large phone with plenty of screen, as well as a powerful processor and loads of RAM to help with all that needed battery life Oppo included a 3,730mAh battery to keep the device powered on throughout the day.
The Oppo Find X features pop-up front and rear cameras
The phone doesn't feature a headphone jack and will instead use the USB Type-C port for audio when plugging in headphones. Oppo is calling them "Bordeaux Red" and "Glacier Blue", and saying they shimmer like a "precious gemstone".
