Bumblebee follows Hailee Stanfield as she discovers and befriends the lovable, yellow Autobot.

Jessica Chobot was joined by Nerdist News writers Aliza Pearl and Joey Clift, as well as video editor Adam Murray on today's trailer round-up show, and they started with the trailer for Bumblebee. I play a character named Charlie Watson, who is a mechanic.

Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings), and stars Hailee Steinfeld (Edge of Seventeen), Pamela Adlon (Better Things), John Cena (Daddy's Home 2), Stephen Schneider (Broad City), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. The film is set in 1987, where Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. The budget for Bumblebee is roughly $100 - far less than previous movies in the franchise. The film is also written by Christina Hodson, who is penning the scripts to DC's Birds of Prey and Batgirl films. Are we excited for him to help bring this world to life, or would we prefer to see him back in the director's chair?

Bumblebee: The Movie opens December 21 in the U.S. and December 26 in the United Kingdom, with no Australia release date yet.
