In Indiana, Republicans chose wealthy businessman Mike Braun over two sitting congressmen to lead the party's charge against a vulnerable Democratic senator in the fall. The stakes are high as the GOP braces for potential major losses this fall.

Trump says on Twitter Wednesday: "The Republican Party had a great night". "If the Democrats nominate Bernie-lite candidates who want to do nothing but impeach the president, they're not going to win in November". The two front-runners are incumbent Democrat Joe Manchin and Republican candidate Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, who won the West Virginia primary Tuesday. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., in the November general election.

Shortly before losing the primary, Blankenship left the door open to supporting Manchin in the general election. "And look, Donald Trump has an 84 percent approval rating in West Virginia among Republicans, and that hurt".

Vice President Mike Pence's older brother Greg Pence, meanwhile, won the Republican nomination in Indiana's 6th District.

A good example is the race in Ohio's 10 congressional district, now held by Republican Michael Turner.

He also revealed that he underwent extensive medical tests and has been told his elbow and forearm are in "pristine" condition. But Cora would not rule out the lefty needing a stint on the 10-day disabled list before returning to the Red Sox rotation.

And on the local level, a woman who accused Trump of sexually harassing her more than a decade ago claimed the Democratic nomination in a race to represent an area southeast of Toledo in the state House of Representatives. State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey beat Rep. In order to take control of the House of Representatives, Democrats need a net gain of 24 seats.

Blankenship had gone scorched-earth against Manchin on TV during the primary, but since his loss has been at least as critical of Morrisey, saying he wouldn't support his former primary rival. Sherrod Brown in November.

Tuesday's primary could put the GOP back in the Alabama nightmare scenario: Every statewide poll shows Manchin, the Democrat, handily beating Jenkins and Morrisey.

West Virginia occupies a unique place in the political universe.

No matter Tuesday's victor, Trump's team was keeping pressure on Manchin. Thomas said President Trump's tweet made that much of a difference.

Trump and his party invested significant time and resources to attack Blankenship in recent weeks. Mr Harris, a Baptist pastor who called his opponent a "Republican liberal", will face Dan McCready, a well-funded former marine turned solar-power executive, in November. "There also was $8 million more spent in the Republican primary than our side". In addition to his racially insensitive language, Blankenship had spent a year in prison for his involvement in lax safety standards that led to a deadly mine explosion.

Blankenship had previously called himself "Trumpier than Trump". I just, with the disgusting tragedies we have had, it's just - my heart still aches for all the families. "Probation ends at 12:01 a.m. tonight".

"I haven't really thought about what I'm going to do tomorrow", he continued. Tomorrow, I may be in Aruba before sunset.
