Kathua: Students' protests, clashes in Ajas Bandipora

A massive rally was taken out by students in Uri town in Baramulla district in support of the victim, reports reaching here said. However, security forces deployed in the area stopped students from moving ahead. "Two others, who had suffered minor bruises, were given first aid and discharged", a doctor at Anantnag district hospital, said.

Following the protests, all the educational institutions and business establishments were closed in the Anantnag town for the day.

Police said a group of students assembled on the strategic Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora, blocking traffic, and staged protests to demand strict punishment for the culprits in Kathua incident.
