The Cowboys Have Released Former All-Pro Wideout Dez Bryant

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Dallas notified Bryant of his release during a meeting with owner Jerry Jones on Friday.

It's also another sign that Stephen Jones has a huge voice in this organization.

In 2012, DeSoto police arrested Bryant for an alleged assault on his mother, leading the Cowboys to implement the so-called "Dez Rules", which strictly curtailed the wide receiver's off-the-field activities.

Despite vowing several times he was "unbothered" about rumors of a possible split from the Cowboys, the three-time Pro Bowl receiver vented about offseason coverage of his potential roster status next season.

In order to sign Bryant, the Bengals would likely need to cut current wide receiver Brandon LaFell.

Bryant made it clear, though, that it's all love for the fans. The tape never materialized, and the rumor surfaced just as the Cowboys were negotiating a long-term contract with Bryant. The Eagles have less room under the salary cap than any National Football League team, according to Spotrac, and their current wide receiving corps was good enough to win the Super Bowl just two months ago. He'll also do so having experienced limited team success during his time in Dallas, during which the Cowboys make the playoffs just twice and won just one playoff game. Bryant could put up career numbers in an offense in which Jones commands so much attention. Instead Bryant would be a great number two receiver opposite of Hopkins.

Saudi Aramco signs deal with Indian refiners
On retailing, he said Saudi Aramco is "very much interested" as it does not want to remain just a manufacturing company. India plans to expand its refining capacity by 77 percent to about 8.8 million barrels per day by 2030.

He was selected No. 24 overall in the 2010 draft. Dallas traded up three spots to get him.

In eight seasons with the Cowboys, Bryant washad 531 receptions for f7,459 receiving yards and 73 touchdowns. Bryant hasn't hit 1,000 yards since 2014, when he had 1,320. He said some of the frustration was rooted in the offensive scheme. "He will always be a valued member of our family", Jones said. The days of Bryant putting up 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns are probably gone. With Rob Gronkowski redefining the tight end position, with Julian Edelman being impossible to cover in the slot and outside, with Jordan Matthews now involved in the slot, and with Chris Hogan occasionally being invisible to opposing defenses, the Patriots are pretty well-stocked in terms of pass catchers.

Mickey Spagnola, who works for the Cowboys' team website, ignited speculation that Bryant could be eying a contract with either the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles or Washington Redskins.

Bryant should have plenty of suitors on the open market, despite his slippage in production last season. He's hard to count on for Dak Prescott.

"Cowboy Nation, I need you to know this wasn't my decision ..."

Shortly after the news broke, Bryant took to Twitter, writing "let's start the process". After that failed attempt, Dallas added free agents Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson to their wide receiver corps.
