"Apple is working on touchless gesture control and curved screens for future iPhones", he writes. What's more is that it takes into consideration the fingers proximity from the screen.

Those familiar with Samsung's Galaxy line will likely remember that the South Korean manufacturer has played with simple hand gesture controls in the past, most notably with the Galaxy S4 and S6.

Apple's iteration of the software feature is said to be similar to the existing 3D Touch feature which provides additional information when the user hovers their finger over a trigger area. However, unlike Samsung's curved edge displays on their flagship smartphones, Apple will pull the curves on the top and bottom.

Both technologies are in their developing phases, however, consumers should expect the features to arrive in the 2020 or 2021 model years. So far, every iPhone model has used a flat display. It is said to be unlikely to ship in products for "at least two years". That would suggest that these are OLED displays, which are much more flexible than LCDs. After Instagram's departure, some of the apps still available for this smartwatch might go away as well, since Apple recently required developers to build native apps for the Apple Watch in any future updates. Apple is known to be the trendsetter for new technologies in the market. Even Apple's new iPhone X, which introduced new facial recognition technology and a almost all-screen front, failed to universally impress reviewers. The iPhone X's OLED screen curves slightly at the bottom, but the shape is mostly invisible to the human eye. To stay ahead, Apple needs compelling new features and designs.

For the forthcoming iPhone generation, Apple is reportedly releasing three sizes, with the largest to top the iPhone 8 Plus' 5.5-inch screen, with about a 6.5-inch screen.
