The Jets' chances at landing Kirk Cousins took a massive blow Tuesday morning.

Interestingly, the big Kirk Cousins contract might not come with considerable improvement.

"We've only agreed to visit Minnesota first", McCartney said.

The Jets' pursuit of Bridgewater comes hours after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Cousins, New York's top target, plans to sign a three-year deal with the Vikings. Cousins has topped 4,000 yards passing in each of the past three seasons. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 draft and was widely regarded as an afterthought with the Redskins mortgaging their future to trade up for Robert Griffin III. With some big-name quarterbacks on the market this season, the first three major quarterback names have already found a new team, and the deals are coming in. However, Cousins still had a pretty good season with 27 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions.

The Eagles, who signed Bradford to a contract extension after 2015, were reportedly interested in bringing Cousins to Philadelphia if the Redskins had decided not to franchise tag him.

Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack says one person is dead, one in critical condition and 5 people are in serious condition. Torres said his brother, also a member of the Channelview band, was on another bus not involved in the accident.

Bradford, 30, and Bridgewater, 25, were attempting to return from injuries at the tail end of the 2017 season as their Vikings charged into the NFC Championship Game behind starter Case Keenum.

And now comes news via multiple report that the New York Jets - having missed out on Cousins and others - are pivoting to Teddy Bridgewater and likely will get something done with him soon. The Vikings have offered the free agent quarterback a three-year, $86 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. But, they went out and signed one of the top quarterback free agents and will nearly certainly draft a QB in the first round, too.

Washington will not face the Vikings during the 2018 regular season. The Already one of the top defenses in the National Football League, with capable playmakers in wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen and running back Dalvin Cook, adding a top quarterback could put the Vikings over the top.

Their defense, until faltering over the last five quarters of the team's run in the playoffs, is stacked with stars and directed by one of the league's long-time experts in coach Mike Zimmer.
