Netflix has released the first trailer for their reboot of LOST IN SPACE.

Today, Netflix dropped the first teaser trailer for their new, much more serious, version of Lost in Space. The Robinson family boards the Jupiter 2 as one of the first families selected for space colonization, but whereas NASA makes it look easy sometimes, traveling in space is far more hard than it seems. Toby Stephens ("Black Sails") plays John Robinson, Molly Parker ("Deadwood") plays Maureen Robinson, and Max Jenkins ("Sense8") plays Will Robinson, who will, no doubt, be in danger.

The original series ran for 83 episodes between 1965 and 1968.

This modern remake of the classic '60s sci-fi series takes place 30 years into the future when colonization in space is a real possibility. Ignacio Serricchio plays Don West, the Jupiter 2's brash pilot, and Parker Posey plays the rogue Dr. Smith. The trailer also announces when the first season of this new series will be arriving on the streaming service. While Netflix recently released its dark, gritty cyberpunk show Altered Carbon, Lost in Space will be aimed more at family audiences. Now, in a new teaser for the show, we see that we're only a couple short months away from seeing this become a reality. Soon up, they end up living a much different life than they expected when they're thrown off course and onto a lost planet, where they're forced to "survive in a unsafe alien environment, light-years from their original destination", as Netflix puts it. There are two outsiders along with the Robinsons, "who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception".

It has now been about 50 years since the original Lost in Space aired. Parker Posey also stars as Dr. Smith, a master manipulator whose endgame is now unknown.
