Snow begins Thursday afternoon; Friday morning commute possibly messy

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for DeKalb, Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Lee, McHenry, LaSalle, Grundy, Kane, and Kendall Counties from 6 p.m. until midnight Friday. "We'll see more snow Thursday night into Friday (could be 3-6") and another several inches could fall from Sat. PM to Sun. AM.

"Expect a hard Friday morning commute, especially south of Milwaukee and Madison and into northern IL", according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
