The France global left Arsenal to move across London on transfer deadline day and said the opportunity to link up with Conte was too good to turn down.

The Blues made a late move for the striker and managed to complete the transfer on the deadline day for a sum of £18 million.

The arrival of the Gabon global meant that Giroud was set to become Arsenal's third-choice striker with Alexandre Lacazette also ahead of him in the pecking order.

Giroud's place in the Arsenal line-up was threatened with the arrival of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for a club record fee.

Wenger had nothing but good things to say about Giroud after the transfer went through and he insisted that the move suited all parties, despite the Gunners having once again sold to one of their close rivals. But they wanted a loan. Sevilla were interested, Roma contacted my agent. "But when Conte told me he was counting on me, my choice was made", he said.

Once Arsene Wenger had chose to bring in another centre-forward in Aubameyang, the French worldwide told the media that he spoke to Didier Deschamps for advice before choosing to move on as part of the chain that ensured that the Gabonese hitman ended up at the Emirates.

This Years Call Of Duty Will Be Black Ops 4
Given how well the Nintendo Switch has sold, it makes sense for the next Call of Duty game to arrive on Nintendo's latest console. The Switch version of Black Ops 4 will reportedly support new DLC map packs, HD Rumble as well as the Joy-Con motion controls.

'I wanted to stay in the Premier League and Chelsea was a great opportunity for me'.

"Deschamps didn't encourage me to join Chelsea, he encouraged me to change club".

"Ideally you want him to go to clubs who do not compete with you, but on the other hand it was a bit linked to the Aubameyang deal and he's just had a third baby so it was very hard on the family side to leave London".

There are some interesting quotes from Olivier Giroud in there.

Giroud has been a consistent part of Deschamps's plans despite a plethora of attacking talent in France, and the target man has scored 29 goals in 69 France appearances.
