Marco Giacomelli of the Evening Standard reported Tottenham want to move quickly to sign him because they are "conscious of the need to arrange a work permit for the 36-cap Brazil global before Wednesday's 11 p.m. [GMT] deadline".

Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a fee of £25m for Lucas Moura, according to Sky Sports.

However, according to BBC Sport, Spurs have agreed to pay £25m for the Brazilian worldwide, and a transfer is expected to go through before Wednesday's deadline.

Lucas has had his eye on a move for some time, having been limited to just six cameo appearances in all competitions this season. Still, I think it's pretty safe to assume that this transfer IS going to happen now.

Pochettino recently revealed that Spurs will be active in the final days of the ongoing transfer window and will look to sign quality players that can improve his squad.

Spurs next play Manchester United at Wembley on Wednesday night.

He has played over 150 Ligue 1 games for the French side, winning four titles and three French Cup trophies.

Speaking to ESPN, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes that Moura represents a good signing for the London club.

The 20-year old is one of the most coveted young talents in the world, with a host of leading European sides said to be interested in signing the flamboyant midfielder.

Asked specifically about Moura, Pochettino replied: "There's a lot of rumours about different players and I never talk about rumours".
