State police said Smith was the first person to arrive at the carwash, around 3 a.m. Sunday. State police say it's possible that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. Tim Smith, the shooter, is believed to have turned the firearm on himself after the incident.

Smith is accused of fatally shooting 27-year-old William Scott Porterfield, 25-year-old Chelsie Lou Cline, 23-year-old Courtney Sue Snyder and 21-year-old Seth William Cline early Sunday morning.

The news had been withheld for nearly two days: Timothy Smith, 28, was pronounced dead at a hospital just before 9 p.m. Sunday, about 18 hours after the shooting, trooper Robert Broadwater said.

Smith was on life support Sunday and not expected to survive after suffering a gunshot wound to his head.

According to an image published by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Chelsie Cline shared a Facebook post four days before the shooting that read: "After this week I rlly need to get taken out. on a date or by a sniper either one is fine w me at this point".

Smith was obsessed with Cline after they dated, leaving beer for her on her auto and sending her flowers and other presents, Chelsie Cline's half-sister, Sierra Kolarik, told the Tribune-Review.

Snyder and Seth Cline arrived in a pickup truck, and they were both shot inside their vehicle while it was stopped.

Another woman was injured by shattered glass when she took cover in a vehicle as the shooter opened fire at the victims.

"She is cooperating with the investigation", said Sgt. Jeremy Barni of Pennsylvania State Police.

Indications are the heavily armed Smith may have ambushed the victims. The four victims were pronounced dead at the scene and had been shot with an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and a 9mm handgun, police said.
