Brad attended the 2018 Sean Penn & Friends Haiti Rising Gala in Hollywood charity event yesterday where he bid a hefty $120K United States dollars (roughly $153K AUD) to watch an episode of the hit HBO series with the gorgeous Emilia Clarke! Pitt bid $80,000 initially and then outbid himself at $90,000.
Pitt bid six figures to watch a "Game of Thrones" episode with Clarke on Saturday night during a silent auction at Sean Penn's annual gala for Haiti, held at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, California. Other A-List celebrities in attendance were Lena Dunham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Segel, Connie Britton, Patricia Arquette, Mark Burnett and Leonardo DiCaprio, who was honored for his work combating climate change.
After bidding $120,000, Brad Pitt lost in a charity auction to watch an exclusive screening of "Game of Thrones" with two of its main characters. According to Variety, at one point during the auction, the auctioneer also asked if the "King of the North" was in the room. Funnily enough, Harington wasn't actually included in the original prize, which started at $20,000; the auctioneer got him to agree to join after Pitt had already bid $90,000. When Harington offered to also sit in on the episode viewing, Pitt raised his own bid to $120,000.
GoPro announces layoffs and end of drone business
GoPro's shares recovered somewhat after the news of the possible sale, down 11.30% to $6.67 in mid-day trading on Monday. GoPro shares are also down by 75 percent from their $24-a-share price when the company went public in June 2014.
After all that, the actor was outbid by another attendee who offered $160,000.
While he didn't get a night with Game of Thrones' newest controversial power couple, Brad Pitt did not walk away empty-handed.
