FA Cup: Kane On Song As Spurs Ease Past Wimbledon

With Manchester City out of sight at the top of the Premier League and a fearsome Juventus to face in the Champions League next month, Tottenham can ill-afford any complacency this weekend. Today, Man Utd are linked with Harry Kane...

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed that Kane doesn't have a price, insisting he was off the market.

Wimbledon exhausted after that, with Vertonghen adding the third goal from range after robbing Lyle Taylor deep in opposition territory as Spurs saw out the closing stages comfortably. The English-striker has 24 goals in all competitions this season and he is averaging a goal every 91 minutes.

Kane is now ninth with 125 goals, bettering Sheringham's 124.

Danny Rose's knee injury is not thought to be a serious one, but he remains a doubt for the FA Cup clash against Wimbledon, while Toby Alderweireld remains absent with a hamstring injury.

FA Cup aside, one thing Spurs know they have to do is bring Champions League football back to the club next season when they're in their new stadium, and while their league form has been hit and miss this season, one thing that has been brilliant is their Champions League form, with the club topping their group - despite being paired with Real Madrid.

NDSU head coach Chris Klieman hasn't said if either Allison or Wimbush are going to be ready to play in the championship game. A scrambling Schor, under heavy pressure and off balance, heaved it in the end zone and the ball fell incomplete.

Ziege said: "Obviously, he's scoring goals for fun". We scored then and again quick and the game was over.

It is only the second time Wimbledon have played Premier League opposition, with the last game coming against Liverpool in a 2-1 defeat in January 2015.

A brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Jan Vertonghen sealed a comfortable win for Mauricio Pochettino.

Wimbledon started the second half strongly, but the hosts were soon in the ascendency, with Mousa Dembele striking a low shot against the base of the post before they finally got the breakthrough in the 63rd minute.

"Only a few players can stay at a club their whole career and Kane can be someone like that".
