No one won the Powerball jackpot on Wednesday worth an estimated $460 million, the seventh-largest prize in the game's history, the lottery website said.

The winning numbers were 2, 18, 37, 39, 42 and the Powerball number was 12. It's the second time that Powerball and Mega Millions have had jackpots bigger than $300 million at the same time. He or she paid an extra $1 to the $2 ticket price to trigger the "Megaplier" option, meaning the prize grew from $1 million to $4 million.

At $550 million, the massive prize is among the largest in Powerball and US lottery history, though it is still nowhere close to the record $1.5 billion that was up for grabs in January two years ago.

The next Powerball drawing, set for Saturday night, January 6, will be worth more than half a billion dollars - $550 million to be exact. The cash prize would be nearly $348 million.

The reference to "matters now under investigation" is referring to the Clinton Foundation probe. President Donald Trump has repeatedly called for an inquiry into his former political rival.

The Powerball jackpot is $570 million, and the Mega Millions stands at $450 million.

The estimated totals are before any taxes are assessed.

Powerball is played in 44 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The largest Mega Millions jackpot of $656 million was won in 2012.
