In the comics, Captain Marvel is the alter ego of Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, who becomes a hero when her DNA is fused with an alien's after an accident. Rising out of relative obscurity to star in Lee's Netflix series, she now joins an elite group of movie actors to land the goldmine that is the Marvel Universe.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will direct the project, scripted by Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

Captain Marvel comes out on March 6, 2019.

As for Monica Rambeau, she held the Captain Marvel mantle during her first appearance in The Amazing Spiderman #16 in 1982, but has come into her own and is now known as Photon or Spectrum.

Another possibility is that she plays a relative of Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, who was also reported to have a "co-starring" role opposite Larson (just how many co-leads can a movie have?).

They defended very well, showed they were well organised. "It was a pity, but [we had] great commitment from our players". Sometimes we lost our order, our combination play, but I think in the second half we did better.

Thus, Monica Rambeau is particularly well situated to be introduced as a supporting character in Captain Marvel's new movie. A longtime Avenger, Rambeau has often worked with Carol Danvers.

The latest cast member for Captain Marvel has been revealed and it has got comic book fans everywhere buzzing like bees.

Wise's character has the potential to pull a Falcon in Ant-Man and cameo all around the Marvel movie universe. There is no word on what her role will be, but there has been some speculation about who it could be. Monica would be a fantastic addition to the big screen world of Marvel, as well as potentially opening the door for another fan fave to join the team.
