California twins born in different years, but minutes apart

The second twin, a girl, was born 12:16 a.m. Monday, weighing in at 4 pounds 10 ounces, and about 16 inches.

The twins' mother, Maria Esperanza Flores Rios, had a due date of January 27 but was scheduled for a C-section January 10 due to her high-risk pregnancy.

As the first babies born in the New Year, the Flores twins will get over $3,000 dollars in brand new baby gear, donated by local community organizations.

These babies actually came early.

When Maria Esperanza Flores Rios went into labour on New Year's Eve at 7pm, she probably wasn't expecting the surprise that was coming her way.

Murray out of Brisbane event with hip injury
It also is wreaking havoc with the Australian Open warmup season - especially if the player pulls out after the draw is made. Murray had planned to use the Brisbane event as his main warmup for the Australian Open starting January 15 in Melbourne.

Her daughter was born less than 20 minutes later on New Year's Day.

Joaquin and Aitana de Jesus Ontiveros were both due to arrive January 27, 2018. The babies were born healthy and hassle-free, with the only wow-factor about their birth being the timing.

The miracle birth involved the pair of twins - a boy and a girl, who arrived on either side of the midnight in California's Delano Regional Medical Center.

According to the Daily Mail, which also picked up on the Delano twins, there were four of them in the US a year ago. "The whole family feels humbled and blessed and excited", the spokesman shared.
