A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected.

Two things are noticeable: The wind has picked up Thursday afternoon, and the temperature has dropped down, falling to 5 degrees above zero.

The trend continues as we head into the weekend and now the potential for snow begins to mix with the cold.

The event will contain blowing and drifting snow and bitter cold temperatures after the snow ends. Forecast models have the snow showers moving out by midnight EST Saturday.
