Powerball, Mega Millions jackpots climb over $300M

Saturday's Powerball drawing will be among the 20 largest in US lottery history after no one hit the jackpot again on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, December 27th the Powerball jackpot will reach $337 million.

Memo to the next big lottery victor: Hold off on claiming your winnings until January to bag an extra $4 million to $9 million, courtesy of the GOP and President Donald Trump. For the Powerball, those tax tallies for the $210.4 million cash prize would be $52.6 million and up to $18.6 million, respectively. That means that jackpot could grow.

The lottery pot is still growing this week, with almost a jackpot totaling $700 million across three different games. It is $1 million without Power Play. To win the jackpot, a player must match all six winning numbers in a drawing. And when they do, they can thank Congressional Republicans and the president for making their holiday that much sweeter.
