It will bring snow to the area this afternoon which will intensify across Southern Ontario this evening.

Toronto's Pearson International Airport issued an advisory amid the snowy conditions.

"Snow will begin late Sunday afternoon with the bulk of the snow falling Sunday night".

Police also urged motorists to slow down and leave plenty of time to get around. "Roads are very slippery give yourself plenty of time", Toronto police said in a tweet.

While no further snowfall is expected Monday, gusting winds could continue to keep visibility poor on the roads.

Poronaysk, with a population of just 16,000, is expected to be blanketed by 50 cm of snow on Christmas Day. Travelers are encouraged to adjust their plans if possible.
