Two 17-year-old suspects have been arrested and a third suspect is being sought in connection with the shooting outside Graham-Kapowsin High School that injured two 16-year-old students on Tuesday, authorities said.

John Gutierrez, 41 of Frederickson, to The News-Tribune of Tacoma that he was on his way to the Graham-Kapowsin High to get his son, who had finished with his after-school drama program.

Dave Reichert, United States Rep. R-Auburn, also tweeted, "My prayers are w/ the families of the victims; the students, teachers, & staff at the school; & the community affected".

The other student was found inside a locker room. "All remaining students on campus are secured with deputies, considered safe as security sweep is ongoing", one tweet read.

Once the danger was cleared the students were released around 4:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. EST).

There was no immediate word on the students' conditions, but officials say both were taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

The sheriff's office said the suspects were described as multiple black males, and that they fled in a green vehicle, possibly a Chevy Impala.

Troyer said officials believe the shooting took place off school property and the wounded students ran back onto the campus.

The high school is located at 22100 108th Ave Graham. Frontier Middle School, Graham Elementary School and Nelson Elementary School were also locked down during the initial investigation. Graham-Kapowsin and the other schools that were put on lockdown will follow a normal schedule on Wednesday, which is a scheduled late start for the Bethel School District.
