Two 17-year-old suspects have been arrested and a third suspect is being sought in connection with the shooting outside Graham-Kapowsin High School that injured two 16-year-old students on Tuesday, authorities said.
John Gutierrez, 41 of Frederickson, to The News-Tribune of Tacoma that he was on his way to the Graham-Kapowsin High to get his son, who had finished with his after-school drama program.
Dave Reichert, United States Rep. R-Auburn, also tweeted, "My prayers are w/ the families of the victims; the students, teachers, & staff at the school; & the community affected".
The other student was found inside a locker room. "All remaining students on campus are secured with deputies, considered safe as security sweep is ongoing", one tweet read.
"We are confident that the shooters fled the area and there are no suspects at the school or on the school grounds", a Sheriff Department spokesman said. But before the fight started, someone in the getaway auto fired multiple rounds, hitting the two students.

But the issues of the rights of expatriate citizens and the UK-EU border on the island of Ireland remain fraught, diplomats said. She said: "There are a couple of issues, some differences do remain which require further negotiation and consultation".
Once the danger was cleared the students were released around 4:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. EST).
There was no immediate word on the students' conditions, but officials say both were taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
The sheriff's office said the suspects were described as multiple black males, and that they fled in a green vehicle, possibly a Chevy Impala.
Troyer said officials believe the shooting took place off school property and the wounded students ran back onto the campus.
The high school is located at 22100 108th Ave E.in Graham. Frontier Middle School, Graham Elementary School and Nelson Elementary School were also locked down during the initial investigation. Graham-Kapowsin and the other schools that were put on lockdown will follow a normal schedule on Wednesday, which is a scheduled late start for the Bethel School District.
