Jimbo Fisher: Move from Florida State to Texas A&M was 'no-brainer'

Woodward and Fisher overlapped at LSU from 2000-2004.

Fisher mentioned Texas A&M's facilities on multiple occasions during Monday's press conference, which could be perceived as a shot at his former school.

Seminoles players found out about Fisher's departure before a scheduled 2 p.m. meeting Friday, where he addressed the team one last time in his eight-year tenure.

"Its truly a great honor and privilege to be standing here in front of you in Aggieland today, it really is", Fisher said.

With Fisher's resume including a national title win at Florida State, he's ready to tackle that goal at College Station.

Fisher also repeatedly mentioned that he has "a oneness" with Woodward and the rest of the Texas A&M administration and praised their collective vision for the program.

Two people with direct knowledge of the decision say Fisher has resigned to take the same job at Texas A&M.

Saleh ruled Yemen for more than three decades until he was forced to resign following an Arab Spring uprising in 2011. The wider Yemen conflict pits the Houthi-Saleh alliance against the Saudi-backed government of Hadi.

A&M's Board of Regents approves the hiring of Jimbo Fisher. "I've always admired Texas A&M from afar and appreciated what it had".

"Being here I don't have to tell yall that, there's no doubt, it is everything I envisioned and more", Fisher said. "And I knew he had the same visions that I did". "When you get an offer like he got, you can't turn those things down".

A&M lured Fisher to A&M with a historic contract. The 53-year-old Sumlin, who went 51-26 and led the Aggies to a bowl game in each of his six seasons, is still owed $10 million for the remaining two years on his contract. In addition to that, Fisher will become the second highest paid coach in college football behind Alabama's Nick Saban.

"Anytime is spend money on behalf of this university, there's a lot of nervousness", Young said.

Fisher left FSU with an 83-23 record and the best winning percentage (.783) in ACC history.

"Your expectations will never be greater than mine", Fisher said. "I wish him well".
