The decision to play came down to South Carolina State.
A South Carolina State men's basketball player was given CPR and stretchered off the court after he collapsed on the sideline during Saturday's game against NC State at PNC Arena in Raleigh.
The focus quickly shifted to South Carolina State's bench area, however, as emergency medical personnel rushed to the area. He was scoreless in four minutes of playing time. With 13:08 to play in the first half, Solomon collapsed on the Bulldogs bench and required immediate medical attention.
I'm not sure how either team was able to continue on with the game after that, but South Carolina State players made a decision to return to the court, and the crowd gave them a standing ovation.
Leach nearing deal with Tennessee
And according to Newy Scruggs, an NBC Sports radio host, Leach is "working on a deal" to become the next head coach at Tennessee . Currie was in Los Angeles Thursday, reportedly interviewing Leach, and Leach flew back to Pullman, Washington, when it was done.
South Carolina State players then took a vote and made a decision to resume playing the game. "I think what happened was once they found out their teammate was okay, we went back into the locker room until they made a decision to play".
A fair warning in advance that this video is extremely emotional as players, coaches, and fans were finding out what was happening on the floor.
N.C. State led 48-33 at halftime, then had a 24-10 edge across barely more than six minutes to begin the second half. Dorn was 8 of 8 from the field and Lennard Freeman was 7 of 7.
