WhatsApp for iPhone Now Lets you Play YouTube Videos Without Leaving App

The update can be downloaded from the App Store, description of which reads, "When you receive a link to a YouTube video, you can now play it right within WhatsApp".

The update has been rolled out to various consumers.

Referred to as "picture-in-picture" feature, the update will hopefully stop the autoplay hole as well, Mashable reports. Many users also came out on Twitter to oppose YouTube's policy of monetization.

The update certainly helps in terms convenience as you no longer have to go back and forth switching between apps to watch videos.

All you need to do is hold the recording button, and swipe it upwards to lock the recording, and after you're done with it, you can simply click on the arrow icon to send the message, or cancel it. Note: This feature is available only for users with the iOS 2.17.81 WhatsApp version.

In addition, the Google-owned video site has also turned off comments option on more than 625,000 videos targeted by alleged pedophiles. The recent update of WhatsApp has also allowed group administrators to exercise more control over their chat groups, by limiting group chat feature to certain group member and preventing other administrators from deleting the group creator.
