Goodwin told his social-media followers that the baby boy was delivered at 4 a.m. Sunday after "some complications". "The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she was endured is unbelievable", he continued. "Please Pray for the Goodwin family", Goodwin wrote. He blew a kiss to the sky and knelt to pray after the touchdown, and his team rushed to congratulate him.

He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and signed with the 49ers in March 2017 after experiencing a slew of injuries in his first few seasons.

According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, he left Levi's Stadium immediately after the game had finished, but the wideout revealed on his Instagram why he was so emotional after his touchdown, and unfortunately, it's for a very sad reason. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin got the first touchdown of the day for San Francisco midway through the second quarter. In September, the fifth-year National Football League veteran shared a photo of him and his wife kissing while holding an ultrasound image.
