Walmart's Black Friday 2017 ad is out!

While many malls around the country will remain closed on Thanksgiving this year, the Staten Island Mall will be open for shoppers hoping to get a jump on the holiday season. Its stores will stay open until 10 p.m. the following day.

New this year, Walmart is color-coding its departments in-store and in its circular so that shoppers can easily find what they're looking for in potentially large Black Friday crowds. Some stores will close at midnight or 2 a.m. on Friday and reopen at 6 a.m.

However, store openings are optional on Thanksgiving - so some retailers may not be open. The company is also highlighting deals that will only be available at certain hours. Instead, doors will open at 7:45 a.m. on Friday.

It's beginning some online deals Thursday and plans to offer most of its Black Friday deals online starting at 12:01 a.m. ET on Thanksgiving. Blu-ray movies start at $3.99 on Black Friday.

Target's Black Friday event starts at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
