Trump gave a half-hearted condolence call to the widow, according to Wilson, who said she heard the exchange on speakerphone. "I'm gonna remember that bike", she said.

Trump last week lashed out at Rep. Wilson, disputing her account of what he said in the phone call.

"Americans should know what's going on in Niger", McCain said. "It made me cry, because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and couldn't remember my husband's name".

"If my husband is out here fighting his life for our country, and he risked his life for our country, why can't you remember his name?" "He was an awesome soldier".

"It made me cry", she said. "La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!" the president wrote.

The episode began after Trump was asked by a reporter why he hadn't addressed the deadly Niger mission for almost two weeks after it occurred.

The White House said Mr Trump's conversations with the families of dead servicemen were private.

Last week, Trump's chief of staff said he was "stunned" and "broken-hearted" by the criticism of the president's phone call.

Google's 'Project Loon' restores basic communication in Puerto Rico
It sent five planes and almost 40 ships containing network supplies, equipment, vehicles and personnel to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Alphabet has previously deployed "Loon" to provide emergency phone service in Peru following flooding there earlier this year.

Pelosi said, "For them to mischaracterize her is really so sad". All speakers - including Wilson - concentrated rather on Johnson's sacrifice. She was principal of a school Johnson's father attended.

The president has denied the accusation, at one point tweeting: "Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof)".

In the days that followed, both Trump and Kelly publicly attacked the congresswoman, with Trump tweeting that Wilson's recounting of the call was "a total lie" and Kelly incorrectly accusing Wilson of bragging about her role in securing funding for the Federal Bureau of Investigation office that was dedicated in 2015. "Why would we fabricate something like that?" "I don't have nothing to say to him".

ABC News reported Sunday that Myeshia Johnson did not write the post, which resembled a post from a Facebook timeline. "I know my husband's body from head to toe".

"They won't tell me anything". "I don't know what's in that box. That's my brother and I love my brother and I know he love my sisters".

The deal took place while Clinton was secretary of State, but her campaign and former State Department officials have said she was not involved in the approval process.

Unwilling to put the tussling behind him, President Trump on Saturday jabbed back at the Democratic lawmaker who has slammed him for his words of condolence to a military widow, calling Rep. Frederica Wilson "wacky" and contending she is "killing" her party.

Johnson is pregnant and due January 29 with a baby girl. Johnson said she wants the world to know "how great of a soldier my husband was".
