The Egypt national football team have emerged as the second African country to qualify for the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup.

Congo nearly ruined the party when Arnold Bouka volleyed home to peg back the hosts after Salah's second-half opener.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah converted a stoppage-time penalty as Egypt sealed a dramatic 2-1 win over Congo to reach the World Cup finals.

A scoreless first half raised the nerves in Alexandria but Salah's first of the night put one Egyptian foot in Russian Federation.

Salah broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when he latched on to a through pass from midfielder Mohamed Elneny of Arsenal.

When Bouka thumped home an equaliser for the unfancied and winless Congo late on it became clear why Cuper had turned to medication.
