Days before that, Lombardo said Paddock rented a room overlooking another Las Vegas music festival, Life is lovely.
An armed-to-the-teeth Paddock built a sniper's nest on the 32nd floor of the Mandala Bay Resort and Casino before unloading on revelers enjoying a country music festival.
On 1 October, he opened fire on the country music concert taking place below.

The hotel is cooperating with the authorities on this matter, said Carragher.
Investigators haven't determined whether Paddock was considering targeting the festival, Lombardo said. However, officials have repeatedly said that they have so far found absolutely no links to global terror groups and have cast doubt on the claim.
