Giving back. The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation made a $1 donation to the newly established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund in the wake of the destruction and flooding in Southeastern Texas and Louisiana caused by Hurricane Harvey.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Leonardo DiCaprio and his foundation", said United Way Worldwide president Brian Gallagher. She joined J. J. Watt in creating a fundraising campaign to support the recovery of the Harvey victims. Other celebrities who have pledged contributions are Chris Brown, Kevin Hart, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
He joins a growing entourage of stars to donate to the victims of one of the worst storms to make landfall in the US since Katrina, including Beyonce, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Ruby Rose, Rachael Ray, Ellen Degeneres, Fall Out Boy, Sandra Bullock, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Kim Kardashian, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled, T.I., Jack Antonoff, Chris Young, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez and Selena Gomez.
Actor Jensen Ackles, $50,000 to Random Acts. "I will be doing a special "Orion's Rise" show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey relief", she said on Instagram.
