Today it has been revealed that Android O, the next major version of Google's operating system, will be "touching down" (and likely shown off) on August 21st at 2:40 PM ET via a livestreamed event from New York City. Google will introduce new devices which would be pre loaded with this Android O. Devices are Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P.
With just one day before the release of Android O, Google uploaded a version with the file name Google Oreo_Teaser on its official Google+ page. The release date has been synchronized with the solar eclipse which is the first of its kind since 1918. Indeed, Oreo would be a better choice than Octopus when picking names for Android O.
There is also a proof for the name. According to us, Xiaomi is the only option because when it comes to price management, as Xiaomi is way ahead than other brands in that department. Till now, Android versions have been named after dessert names, but Android experts feel that Google may break the tradition this time. Even though Android O will launch on August 21, the new platform will be integrated with the forthcoming release of Google Pixel 2 in October.
At that time when NASA will live stream the solar eclips, Google will also live stream Android O launch event.
