'Game of Thrones' leaks might have helped, not harmed, HBO

But it's fair to say that, as HBO's fantasy drama draws to a close, there's a much bigger spotlight shining down on Game of Thrones and its burly, fur-covered shoulders. For one, they're comprised of only seven and six episodes, respectively, which is less than the traditional 10-episode seasons.

The episode was available on-demand to subscribers in Spain and Norway before it was removed, but not before it had been illegally downloaded and shared.

And HBO has also been under attack by hackers who stole 1.5 terabytes of data from the broadcaster, including unaired Game of Thrones scripts.

A group called OurMine appeared to take control of the main HBO accounts, as well as those for the network's shows including Game of Thrones. In 2016, HBO Nordic had dropped one episode from season 6 accidentally, and a year before, the first four episodes of season 5 had been leaked.

"We have learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO Espana platforms", Tom Krogsgaard Nielsen told the BBC.

African elephant populations shrunk by an estimated 30% between 2007 and 2014, according to the latest elephant census data . Tanzania has been cited as the centre of this catastrophic decline, losing some 60% of all its elephants in just five years.

But an official subsidiary of HBO themselves leaking an episode is certainly new.

The files in the dump contain everything from West World Season 2 shooting schedules to 27 separate Game of Thrones Season 7 "shooting [diaries]" - along with plenty of other inside information.

This is the latest in a spate of cybersecurity woes HBO has experienced in the past month.

From that point, hackers were able to get access to the content and post the episode. The arrests were made a few days ago, and it was found that four employees of an agency, Prime Focus Technologies, that Star India had hired were behind the leak.
