With the company's attention now on the OnePlus 5, however, it might not come as a huge shock that Oliver Z, OnePlus' head of product, confirmed that the OnePlus 3/3T will not be given major software updates following Android O. Many wondered would OnePlus follow the same footsteps for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. According to him, the Open Beta Program will be "moving" to the new OnePlus 5 after the Android O update is rolled out to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. It's left a bad taste in the fanbase and has left some questioning if the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T would survive their two years with Android O at the end of the ride.
OnePlus has made an important clarification on its forums.
While Android O will be the last major OS update for the OP3/3T, Oliver does promise that the devices will continue to receive updates for the "foreseeable future". Another question from different forum member asks why the Open Beta for the OP3/3T has more features than the stable branch. Buyers of the OnePlus 3T probably would have liked at least two years of software support.
Sanders Capital LLC Raises Position in Range Resources Corporation (NYSE:RRC)
On July 21 Citigroup made no change to the company rating of "Buy" and lowered the price expectation to $27.00 from $30.00. Institutional investors maintain the ownership of 92.90% shares and 7.70% shares have in possession of insiders investors.
As Wccftech points out, the OP3 is only 14 months old and the 3T a mere nine months old and it's surprising that support for the devices will end so soon. A month or two after these patches go live, the company will release Oxygen OS 4.5 to both the smartphones.
Tinkerers need not worry, since there are bound to be custom ROMs for the OnePlus 3/3T due to their popularity in the ROM community.
OnePlus recently released the OnePlus 5 which comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear, a slimmer and lighter design and top of the line specifications.
