The 2018 RLX will make its public debut at the upcoming Monterey Automotive Week in California on August 15-19, showcasing the complete redesign of the vehicle.

Acura revealed the facelifted 2018 RLX flagship sedan, which now benefits from the brand's latest design direction and a new suite of technologies. The new 2018 Acura RLX will go on sale in November. It's not much different from the current RLX with two screens in the center stack, tasteful wood interior accents, and lots of curves. Well, the 2018 Acura RLX has landed and it really wants you to take this "Sport Hybrid" thing seriously.

The new body is sculpted into a distinguished design that exudes the presence of both luxury and performance that Acura is going for. The 3.5-liter Earth Dreams V6 and trio of electric motors remain unchanged, however, and are producing the same 377 horsepower as before. Instead of the front axle, however, two of those motors are on the rear axle and they give the auto all-wheel drive.

As before, the RLX is offered with the brand's Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) technology, which combines a direct-injected 3.5 litre V6, lithium-ion battery, seven-speed DCT automatic transmission and three electric motors. Acura says that developments from the NSX have meant better all-weather and dynamic handling in the 2018 RLX.

The 2018 Acura RLX is complimented by three new exterior colors including two premium paint offerings - Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl.

The 310-horsepower RLX with Precision All-Wheel Steer is now mated to a new 10-speed Automatic Transmission (10AT) delivering a more refined driving experience, as well as improved acceleration and passing times. New contrast seat piping and stitching and a new available Espresso interior color round out the interior changes. A new addition to AcuraWatch is traffic jam assist which is a sort of modification to adaptive cruise control specifically for congested traffic.

Standard features on the 2018 RLX Sport Hybrid include premium Krell Audio System, Surround View Camera, parking sensors, LED fog lights, remote engine start, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel.
