While everyone was predicting a Stark family reunion this season, the reappearance of Arya's direwolf Nymeria was unexpected and moving.
When we saw a direwolf in the promotional video of episode 2 of season 7 of Game of Thrones, of which you can read our review on melty, facing Arya, we thought that the young Stark would finally find Nymeria and would finally be less lonely. We had Tyrion writing one of the first lines he ever uttered from the pilot episode to Jon, Sam's tribute to Commander Mormont from the first two seasons, Littlefinger bringing up his returning of Ned's remains to Catelyn, and even a rundown of every ruler Varys has worked for in seven years. This always seemed sort of inevitable, but some Westerosi sleuths think they've found evidence that the show's been dropping clues about Arya's journey to the North for a while. Said Turner, "It would be unbelievable if they could crossover at some point but I think we have more of a chance in the Marvel Universe than on Game of Thrones because we're not about happy endings on Game of Thrones".
When Arya pronounces these words "it's not you" She means is actually that Nymeria is not the kind of she-wolf to be domesticated.
