"Now, I don't know that Donald Trump Jr. had any obligation to come forward and say who he was meeting with at that time", said the governor.

The set of tweets then went on to talk about alleged collusion between his campaign and the Russian collusion.

Trump himself would likely take such a meeting, especially if the Russian lawyer had "a great body" like he told Bridgette Macron she had when greeting the First Lady of France, being the embodiment of the "Ugly American" that he is. Questions intensified after revelations last week that the president's son, Donald Trump Jr., met in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer whom Trump Jr. believed to have information damaging to Clinton.

Trump Jr. did not mention any others who had been at the meeting. He praised Trump Jr.'s "transparency" for publishing the entire email chain in which the meeting was arranged, praising him as a "high-quality person" and "good kid".

The White House has found itself unable to take control of the narrative, with new revelations coming nearly daily, and several government staff members unaware of the full details.

Moscow has denied any interference and the president and Trump Jr. have denied any collusion. "That's politics!" Trump said Monday on his Twitter account.

Opposition researchers from both parties have contested Trump's claim that such activity is common or accepted practice.

Caputo resigned from the campaign on June 20, 2016 after celebrating the dismissal of then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with a tweet that said, "Ding Dong the witch is dead".

The president has called the meeting "standard practice" during a political campaign and Sekulow attempted to deflect any blame on Trump by saying that the meeting must have been acceptable since the Secret Service let the entourage into the offices for the meeting.

Trump appoints special counsel to deal with Russian Federation 'heat'
President Trump has invited firms from all 50 States to show their domestically produced products at the White House . The administration's decision to focus on American-made products has prompted discussion of Trump brand items.

Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said the public "can't accept anything Don Jr. says".

Trump commending Don Jr.'s "transparency" is even a bigger joke now.

Sekulow repeatedly mentioned that he represents the president and not Trump Jr. or the Trump campaign.

"Thus we would not have screened anyone he was meeting with at that time", spokesman Mason Brayman said in a statement.

A federal special counsel and several congressional panels are investigating allegations by USA intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 United States presidential election, as well as potential connections between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.

He also suggested that as the Secret Service allowed the meeting to take place it was not "nefarious".

"Nothing happened from the meeting, zero happened from the meeting, and honestly I think the press made a very big deal over something that really a lot of people will do", he said.

Trump's administration is now under several investigations for its ties to Russian Federation throughout the campaign and transition.
