"My dad grew up not too far away from here on the Pennsylvania-Ohio border and I remember coming to this place so much and we always had a lot of family here", Blaney said.
Blaney became the 10th different driver to win this season, and the fourth to earn his first trip to Victory Lane at the Tricky Triangle. The team has won at least one race in each of the last six decades, but none since Trevor Bayne took the Daytona 500 in 2011.
Harvick finished second followed by Erik Jones, Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski. But there is a side of him thats kind of the opposite that I think he could probably show the fans more to give them an opportunity to get to know him..
"It's great to run up there and it feels really good to get a top five, but, man, when you're that close and you're seeing them battle for the win and you're right there trying to pounce and make a move, it definitely makes you eager to go up there and try to get it".
Kyle Busch dominated the race before winding up ninth at the checkered flag. We had a loose wheel early and had to come back down after that, and we didn't have track position after that, and there [were so few] cautions here that you couldn't drive your way back up there unless you were just lights-out better than everybody else. But Ryan Blaney, who went on to win the race, just beat the No. 78 vehicle off of pit road and took the outside lane.
"Kyle stayed out, and he was on a little bit older tires, and it looked like he was getting pretty tight, especially off of (turn) one, and that's where new tires really seemed to come alive, because you could hold the line and get runs on him, downshift and get next to him", Blaney said.
"He had more speed when we unloaded than we expected and we had a auto that could have run 15th if we hadn't had those two penalties, probably". He was super-fast.
