Former Husker Ahman Green jailed on suspicion of child abuse

Former Packers running back Ahman Green has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

Green was admitted into the jail after an incident allegedly occurred on Sunday, according to TMZ.

Green, 40, was in the Brown County Jail as of Monday morning, according to the report.

Ahman Green was a former running for the Green Bay Packers. The sheriff's department confirmed to the Gazette that Green had been arrested, but did not provide details. Per the website for the jail, Green has been charged with Child Abuse-Intentionally Cause Harm/Cruelty toward Child.

Green starred at Nebraska, then spent the first two seasons of his 12-year National Football League career in Seattle.

Green was a four-time Pro Bowler and is the Packers' all-time leading rusher and played for them for eight seasons, the last a one-year stint after he left for Houston for two seasons. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round, joined the Packers in 2000, went to Texas as a free agent and then returned to the Packers for a season in 2009.

The Packers inducted Green into their hall of fame in 2014.
