First, Donnarumma sent out a tweet following news reports that he was ready to fire agent Mino Raiola and recommit to Milan.
And the teenager then appeared to have clarified his comments, with a message posted on his Instagram suggesting he had opted to give Milan another chance in contract talks.
"Today with my tweets I've sparked a real buzz, which I did not want to generate, and I apologize for that", a statement on his official Instagram account read.
Since that tweet, Donnarumma has now confirmed his intention to re-negotiate with Milan through a post on his Instagram.
"I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans".
Jordan Spieth holes bunker shot on play-off hole to win Travelers Championship
In the third round, Spieth was even par through five holes before a pair of birdies moved him to 10-under. Tournament host Steve Stricker had a 69 to join Fred Couples (68) and Gene Sauers (66) at 9 under.
"My promise is that as soon as the European Championships is over, I will meet the Club together with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal".
Raiola - who represents clients including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli - also had his say on the ongoing drama involving Donnarumma.
Donnarumma, who has made 72 appearances in total for the Diavolo, was not present at the meeting as he is of course on worldwide duty at present with Italy at the Under-21 European Championship in Poland.
He wrote on his Twitter account: "DONNARAIOLA x HATERS 1-0 What's next?"
The 18-year-old already angered supporters after rejecting the club's offer of a contract renewal just over a week ago, but the relationship has been mended to a degree in the time that has since passed.
