Hundreds of residents of a London housing estate have found their lives thrown into chaos after their tower blocks were evacuated amid safety fears linked to the Grenfell disaster.
"The decision by Camden Council to evacuate four of the five towers on the Chalcots Estate was because the failed testing of the external cladding was compounded by multiple other fire safety failures which the fire inspection team found within the buildings".
Officials say they acted because fire officials said they could not guarantee the safety of residents.
The confrontation was one of many this weekend as Camden council sought to move en masse more than 3,000 residents from the estate in Swiss Cottage because of fire safety fears thrown up by the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
"The cost we can deal with later", she added.
"It was perfectly safe before, despite what they are saying now - I believe I am safe in there".
The council said it was booking hotels for residents but around 100 people had to spend the night on air beds in a leisure centre.
"The schools are just here, I have to go to the school, get her packed lunch ready and take her the insulin. And they told us that they will cut our gas", she said.
But some residents of the Camden buildings, collectively known as Chalcots Estate, expressed frustration with the lack of information they received about the evacuations.
Some residents had been provided new accommodations, while others were staying at two rest centres or with family members.
Police said Friday they are considering filing manslaughter charges in the Grenfell disaster and they were conducting a wide-ranging investigation that will look at everything that contributed to it.
NBA Draft: Winners and steals
Utah forward Kyle Kuzma went to Brooklyn at No. 27, and he was included in the D'Angelo Russell-Brook Lopez deal with the Lakers. The Philadelphia 76ers introduced #1 overall National Basketball Association draft pick Markelle Fultz to the city on Friday.
"We are looking at every criminal offence from manslaughter onwards", Detective Superintendent Fiona McCormack told reporters.
Meanwhile, the government ordered immediate checks on the Hotpoint FF175BP fridge freezer model blamed for the blaze.
The evacuation comes amid widening worries about the safety of high-rise apartment blocks across Britain following the inferno that engulfed Grenfell Tower in west London on June 14, killing at least 79 people.
Hotpoint said Friday that "words can not express our sorrow at this bad tragedy" and added it was working with authorities to examine the appliance.
A resident who was forcibly evacuated from a Camden tower block following concerns about fire safety has complained she cannot be rehomed due to her pet.
Michelle Urquhart, who has been living in the Chalcots Estate's Bray tower, said the situation was "frightening".
The government has called on all building owners, public and private, to submit samples of cladding material used on their buildings for testing.
The cladding, Reynobond PE, was only intended for use in buildings shorter than firefighters' ladders in other European countries, but its United Kingdom guidelines stated only to refer to "local building codes". At least one hotel chain is calling in experts to make certain its properties meet safety regulations.
Celotex, which makes the RS5000 insulation boards in the tower's rainscreen cladding, insisted no building over 18m tall would be fitted with the material.
In a statement, Mr Corbyn, who is at Glastonbury Festival, said: "This is now a nationwide threat and the Prime Minister needs to get a grip and lead a national response, including convening the Cobra committee to coordinate Government and public action".
