The St. Louis Blues acquired center Brayden Schenn from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for center Jori Lehtera, the No. 27 overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, and a conditional first-round pick, the teams announced Friday.
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet and Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news during the draft in Chicago.
They turned one of those picks into center Morgan Frost with Friday's No. 27 selection.
He is a left-handed shooter from Saskatoon, Canada who was a first round pick of the L. A. Kings in the 2009 draft - the 5th pick overall. They get an immediate (albeit worse) replacement in Lehtera, plus a good prospect in Frost and another pick that could end up being a first-rounder.
Dennis Rodman takes credit for North Korea releasing Warmbier
The North Koreans had told U.S. officials that Warmbier slipped in a coma after contracting botulism and taking a sleeping pill. But U.S. officials learned after his return that he had been in a state of coma for weeks before he was returned to the U.S.
He was a part of the move that sent Mike Richards out to the west coast, arriving in Philadelphia in 2011 with just nine National Hockey League games to his name. The season before he netted 26 goals.
Lehtera, a Helsinki, Finland native, played for St. Louis the last three seasons.
Schenn leaves Philadelphia after six seasons in the National Hockey League. He scored 109 goals and added 137 assists for 246 points.
