In a confusing message posted on Twitter Friday morning, President Trump seemed to confirm that he is indeed under criminal investigation for his firing of Former FBI Director James Comey.

And a person familiar with Trump's thinking said Tuesday morning that it's "unlikely" the President will fire Mueller, but conceded that it's often hard to predict Trump's behavior.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is also under investigation as a member of the Trump campaign, leading Sessions to recuse himself from the case and allowing Rosenstein to appoint Mueller to head the investigation, reports Fox News.

"She added that she was "increasingly concerned" Mr Trump will fire both [investigative special counsel] Robert Mueller and Rosenstein". In the interview, the president said he was thinking of "this Russian Federation thing with Trump" when he chose to dismiss Comey.
