Ronaldo has been with Real Madrid since 2009 but is linked with a return to United nearly on a yearly basis.

Ronaldo's future at Real Madrid looked guaranteed after lifting his third Champions League title with the club earlier this month, the Portugal worldwide scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Juventus.

The Portuguese-born Mourinho is accused of defrauding Spain of €3.3m (£2.9m; $3.6m) in taxes between 2011 and 2012.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has become the second big name to be fingered this summer after he was accused of two counts of fraud in 2011 and 2012 when he managed Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo's woes deepened Tuesday when the star striker who reportedly wants to quit Real Madrid was summoned to appear before a judge investigating tax fraud.

Mourinho is believed to have handed United's chief executive Ed Woodward his list of targets back in March. A claim for the money has been presented at a local court, reports the Daily Mail.

The storm system is predicted to take a turn east later today hitting the mid-Atlantic coast with heavy rain by the weekend. Cindy , which made landfall on the Louisiana coast, has since been downgraded to a Tropical Depression.

Madrid are unlikely to commit to selling the Spain global while there remains a possibility that Ronaldo could leave.

Rio Ferdinand hopes Manchester United can complete a sensational deal to take Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old and his father Jorge Horacio Messi were found guilty of using companies in Belize, Britain, Switzerland and Uruguay to avoid paying taxes on 4.16 million euros of Messi's income earned from his image rights from 2007-09. Ronaldo has denied the charges.

The Portugal captain is apparently unhappy about the recent tax fraud allegations levelled at him, and how Los Blancos have handled the situation.

The sums are not ruinous for the individuals involved - €14.7 million for Ronaldo; €3.3 million for Mourinho - and they may well decide that it is simpler to settle. The two were given 21-month jail sentences but neither is expected to serve prison time since it was a first offence and the sentence was under two years.
