Star Wars' Han Solo spinoff film loses directors

Lucasfilm announced today that the untitled Han Solo film "will move forward with a directorial change", meaning Lord and Miller are being replaced.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said Tuesday that the Star Wars spinoff is parting ways with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller due to different creative visions on the film.

But, she added, "it's become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we've made a decision to part ways". The two were once attached to WB's Flash film, for which they wrote a treatment; however, it's likely their treatment was overhauled when Dope director Rick Famuyiwa joined the project, though he too departed before production began.

As of yet, the Han Solo movie's release date of May 25, 2018 remains.

The Han Solo film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and centers around young Han (Ehrenreich) before he becomes the man audiences know him best for.
