Prince Philip Has Been Hospitalized

News reports, Buckingham Palace released the news on June 21, noting that Prince Philip was brought to London's King Edward VII Hospital "as a precautionary measure".

The Duke of Edinburgh is "getting better" after being admitted to hospital as a precaution for treatment for an infection, the Prince of Wales said.

Queen Elizabeth, 91, attended the the State Opening of Parliament with her son Prince Charles, who filled in for Philip, on June 21. He had earlier made an appearance at Royal Ascot.

Buckingham Palace would not go into details about Philip's condition or the type of infection, but his past history of a bladder infection could indicate his current problem.

The United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga after Modi, a Yoga enthusiast lobbied for ancient Indian art. Deuba released "Dainandin Yogabhyas", a book written by Acharya Bal Krishna and "Yoga Sandesh" published by the Indian Embassy.

The palace said Philip was driven to the hospital by private auto Tuesday evening on the advice of a physician.

"Prince Philip will attend previously scheduled engagements between now and August, both individually and accompanying The Queen", the statement about his retirement read.

Philip, whose official title is Duke of Edinburgh and has sometimes drawn attention with headline-grabbing gaffes, has been by the queen's side throughout her 65 years on the throne and she has described him as "my strength and stay".

As per tradition, the queen gave a speech to Parliament Wednesday morning announcing the government's legislative agenda.

The Duke was at the Queen's side on Tuesday for the opening day of Royal Ascot and a source said he was on "good form" during the event.
