While the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved a request from Mayweather Promotions to put on a boxing card on August 26 at the MGM Grand earlier this week, the fight announcement video that Mayweather released on Twitter Wednesday only said that the fight would be in Las Vegas.

McGregor has previously described the match up as "historic", while Mayweather - who will risk flawless, 49 fight unbeaten record - told his fans a few weeks ago "Everybody get your phones out and get this on the internet ASAP".
As such it's no surprise that Mayweather is a minus-1000 favorite to emerge victorious on August 26th, while McGregor is plus-650 to win. "The impossible deal is now done".
Given that Mayweather owns an incredible pro boxing record of 49-0, while McGregor has never competed as a boxer, it's easy to understand why Mayweather has opened as such a stark betting underdog (he is sitting at +700 to Mayweather's -1100, according to 5dimes). He also added a photo of himself and Floyd Mayweather Sr., instead of Mayweather Jr.
However, there are some who are excited about the fight and have praised McGregor for visualising and achieving all the dreams he has set out for, having only joined the UFC in 2013.
"I'm pretty confident (about McGregor's UFC return)", White said.

And while many expect Mayweather to dominate the contest against the relatively inexperienced boxer, UFC president White reckons McGregor could give the undefeated champion a hard time in the bout. Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs for his last fight against Andre Berto in September 2015.
Both camps declined to disclose financial details during a call with reporters but said all sides were satisfied.
Floyd Mayweather is 40 years old, he's always had problems with southpaws, and Conor McGregor is 27 years old, and he is a southpaw.
In what will arguably the most anticipated fights of all-time, the world's greatest MMA fighter will go up against the world's greatest, and until now retired, boxer in the ring.
