Giving his one-of-a-kind comments ahead of Pakistan's semi-final match against England, Sohail, who happens to be a former Pakistan cricket team captain, ultimately screwing his career following a match-fixing scandal, lambasted Sarfraz Ahmed for getting excited way too much.

"I need to tell Sarfraz that you have not created a wonder here.We are going to congratulate you when you play well but we'll also criticise you when you don't", Sohail told during an interview to a Pakistani news channel.

He added, "Someone has helped you win the game". There is no reason for you (Sarfraz) to rejoice.

Morgan, who was one of Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali's three victims, refused to completely absolve his batsmen of any blame as they lost their final eight wickets for the addition of just 83 runs. From the first over, where they were hugely unlucky not to get an early wicket, it controlled the match and deservedly won the game by some margin.

England made it through to the semi-finals with relative ease, but it was a different story against Pakistan in Cardiff as they crashed to an eight-wicket defeat.

Joe Root accepted England had missed a "golden chance" to end their long wait for a maiden one-day global title after a crushing eight-wicket Champions Trophy semi-final defeat by Pakistan.

Nicky Breen from Choice welcomed the action, saying it came 12 months after the group reported the burns cases. The first case management conference is set to be held July 21, before Justice Bernard Murphy in Melbourne.

For the batsmen, it is about taking the right options at the right times - something India have done extremely well throughout this tournament.

Openers Azhar Ali (76) and Fakhar Zaman (57) then helped knock off the inadequate total with nearly 13 overs and eight wickets to spare as England bowed out of their own tournament at the semi-final stage. Combined with England's apparent issues with the pitch, Pakistan didn't give them a sniff.

In the statement - which doesn't mention Sohail's name - the PCB chairman also appreciated Team Pakistan for performing brilliantly in the Champions Trophy. Few thought that was possible after their humiliating defeat at the hands of India in their opening game of the tournament.

Pakistan's players acknowledged the strong crowd support on Wednesday by walking a lap of the ground at the end of the match, particularly applauding the vocal supporters on the south-eastern side of the ground.

Ahmed already knows what it's like to win a trophy at India's expense, having been the skipper of the Pakistan side that defeated their fellow Asian giants in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup final in Colombo.

Add to that, England played arguably its poorest game in the last couple of years and sadly for us home fans, it meant there was really only one team in it.
