No one is getting away with anything with Harris, who served as the California attorney general before coming to Capitol Hill. But she cautiously noted that, alongside the progress the country has made, "We also recognize this is an incredibly challenging moment in our history".
At some point, Harris was on the attack, Sessions was floundering, and the white men decided they had enough. The differences between what is expected and what is allowed between men and women, even on the national stage when the cameras are on them and there should be at least an attempt at equality is pathetic. They can hold him in contempt of Congress if he refuses to do so. I mean I think we're still in the same relevant bucket of rules and procedures from the Senate intelligence committee's perspective.
Less than a week before the Sessions hearing, Politico described National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats as having "stonewalled" in their appearance before the same committee "when asked about news reports that Trump asked each of them to downplay or refute the FBI's probe [of] whether Trump's associates colluded with Russian Federation to influence the 2016 presidential election".
As you'd expect from a former federal prosecutor, Harris drilled down. Bee said. "The guy whose master [Trump] starts every morning rage-tweeting conspiracy slander while working a well-done steak out of his colon does not get to call anyone hysterical". Harris then asked Sessions about how he communicated with Donald Trump both during the campaign and following election night and pressed him on a Department of Justice policy that he referenced as the reason why he couldn't directly comment on his conversations with Trump regarding Russian Federation.
As she went to ask another question, he interrupted her with more qualifications.
Sessions: - that goes beyond just the Attorney General. Harris asked him straight up: What is that policy and did you actually look at it?
And Sessions was nervous. OK, I just wanted to clear that up. Before, Sessions could answer, Super Old White Man again jumped out of his mental fog phone booth to intervene.
And certainly these Senate committee hearings have stressed to me how important it is that we continue to make our voices heard.
Back to the hearing.
But twice now, Harris has been interrupted and chastised by male senators for her style of questioning during the hearings.
Lonzo Ball Reportedly Considering Talking to Teams Picking After Lakers in Draft
But like I wrote above, at this point, all indications are that Boston will select Fultz first overall. "Lonzo is a great guard". So anybody that's in front of me I'm going to try to take him out. "I wouldn't say I'm a bad defender-just being locked it".
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is sworn in by Senator Richard Burr.
It seems the embattled Trump administration has a long road to go before there is any conclusion in the Russian Federation investigation, and it is nearly a guarantee that Senator Harris will be present for more questioning at future hearings.
This was the second hearing in as many weeks where Burr had interrupted Harris.
The first time was last week as she questioned Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
You can read the full conversation below via CNN.
"Can you give me a "yes or no" answer?"
"It's not a short answer, Senator", Rosenstein responded.
Harris: the DOJ policy you referred to ...
Attorney General Jeff Sessions was a senator for 20 years before accepting his current post in the Trump Administration.
